summer time is canning time

I love to can it’s a fairly new skill for me – I’ve only been doing it for about 4 years but I love the process of taking fresh fruit and making it into jams, jellies, and preservers. I have also canned vegetables but it is still to early in the season for those. So far this year I have canned strawberry jam, strawberry-rhubarb jam, raspberry jam, and blueberry jam.

I generally like to hand pick the berries, with family or friends, for me it’s part of the whole process. That way I know they’re super fresh and organic. So here are some pictures of my canning adventures thus far.
