easy breezy dresses

This past August I spent three weeks in Denver taking care of my wonderful, beautiful, and funny grand-daughter; while I was there I took class at a really fun store called Fancy Tiger Crafts. The store is both a yarn store and a fabric store. I originally went there in January, when I was in Denver, to look at their yarns but this summer I signed up for a sewing class. The class was taught by Sonia Philip who has been working on a project called 100 Acts of Sewing. The class was a lot of fun and by the end I had my first dress, using this pattern, completed except for the hemming which I finished at home. While I have no plans to make 100 of these dresses I have made four so far; they are just so comfy and casual that I can’t seem to stop. Anyhow here’s a shout out to Fancy Tiger and Sonya thanks for a fun day and a great new dress pattern.

These are so fantastic Yvonne!! Thank you so much for taking my class, it completely warms my heart to see the photos of your gorgeous dresses. And that b&w floral one, I love how you matched the pockets so perfectly with the print – it’s all in the details!

Very nice. Henrie wants to know if she gets one for next summer…
