chalk boards and pneumonia

After recovering from the flu I think my system was just worn out so I picked up a cold. Unfortunately the cold turned into pneumonia and I am on my second round of antibiotics and really hoping this one works as I have been sick for the past four weeks. For three of those weeks everything has sounded like my head is underwater due to the fluid in my ears. Since I have been so sick I haven’t been doing much crafting. I did however participate in the Art at Color Crossing Holiday Boutique – Thanks Patty for inviting me. I had a great time and actually did really well in sales. The lovely Purple Rayne seen herePurple Rayne found a new home and while I was sad to see her go I think she will be well-loved.

For the sale I made some quick and easy chalk boards. I took some old picture frames and one old mirror frame, spray painted them, cut MDF boards to fit in the frames, then painted those boards with chalk board paint, put everything back together and presto – chalk boards. Sorry some of the pictures are blurry I chalk (ha ha) it up to being sick.

If you have ever hammered your fingers while trying to hold a nail this is a little tip to help prevent sore fingers – use your hot glue gun to temporarily hold the nails in place while you hammer them in. This has saved my fingers many times as I unfortunately do not have good hammering skills.
