sweaters and fire

After mostly knitting for my grand-daughter, who just turned one by the way, I decided to knit a summer sweater for myself.  I wanted to knit it in a fun summer color, I was thinking yellow, but alas my lys did not have yellow so I settled on lavender. I do and do not like how the sweater turned out, I like how it turned out but I think it is too short. The pattern, Schooly, from knitty.com, is meant to be short but I would like it to be longer so I think I may do some tweaking to the finished product.

It’s been a year now since we have moved and I love our new place but have always loved having a fireplace or wood stove and missed not having one here; so after some research we finally got one installed (there were issues with wind since we are up on a bluff). I was certain that winter would end and spring would come since we installed at the end of the season but mother nature has had a different idea. Winter even on April 15 is still hanging on, the good news we get the use the wood stove, bad news no spring and everyone is beginning to go stir crazy. Anyhow here are some photos of the work in progress and finished or I should say nearly finished product.
